CURTIS, Neb. – A Wyoming native is the Aggie of the Month at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.

Hanna Christner of Cheyenne, Wyoming, is Aggie of the Month for September, announced Ron Rosati, NCTA dean. Nominations were the first for the NCTA 2018-19 year.

Christner is a second-year student studying veterinary technology. She was nominated by Josi Arnold of the Vet Tech division.

She was selected for academics, leadership, campus involvement and traits representative of outstanding NCTA students, Rosati said.

“Hanna is a very positive student in the Veterinary Technology Department,” wrote nominator Josi Arnold. “She constantly finds ways to helps other students, faculty, staff, and animals.”

Christner is active in the department’s club, Student Technicians of Veterinary Medicine Association.

“I grew up volunteering at a therapeutic riding center and have always loved working with animals,” Christner explains.

"I chose to come to NCTA because I really wanted to pursue a veterinary technician certification and I "heard good things about the program at NCTA.”

Upon graduation in May, 2019, Christner plans to work in a mixed animal veterinary practice.

“In my free time I enjoy riding my horses, reading books, and playing with my dogs,” Christner said. She will be awarded a certificate from the NCTA Dean’s Office.
