Job Description
Ranch in northeast Nebraska is searching for a ranch hand/manager. If you enjoy doing different tasks everyday all focused around cow/calf operations, this is the job for you.
This individual will spend multiple days of the week working on their own making management decisions. Reviews of tasks completed and upcoming projects will be monitored weekly. There will be no ranch related task that is above or below this individual's responsibility.
Daily Responsibilities: Feeding; Health checking; Show cattle washing/blowing
Weekly/monthly responsibilities: Fencing - new and repairs; Heat detection - AI/ET work; Show cattle clipping; Calving - both spring and fall; Record keeping; Rake and baling hay/cornstalks; Pasture maintenance trees/weeds; delivering sale cattle.
Qualifications or Skills Required
Qualified individual must be self-motivated, dependable, experience with cow-calf operations and ability to operate equipment such as tractors, skid loaders and trailers.
Experience and desire to work with show cattle desired. Other skills necessary are heat detection in cattle, fencing, tree removal, spraying, and ration development. Certificate and confidence in AI would be preferred.
