Minnesota native, Emily Grote is a freshman animal science student at NCTA and is this week’s Student Spotlight. Learn more about Emily and her interests.
Hometown
My hometown is Madelia, Minnesota. Approximately eight and a half hours from here in Curtis.
What are your plans after college?
After college at NCTA, I’d like to continue my education with a dairy science emphasis.
What organizations, clubs, and teams are you involved with at NCTA?
I am involved with Collegiate 4-H and am the FFA Alumni President. Along with that, I am secretary for the Women in Ag Chapter and am a member of Collegiate Cattlemen and the Agribusiness Club.
What did you want to be when you were 10 years old?
When I was younger, I wanted to be a state game warden.
What is your proudest moment? Either in life or at NCTA.
My proudest moment was being a Minnesota State 4-H Ambassador and winning the Key Award.
Do you have a favorite quote or piece of life advice that you live by?
My favorite quote/advice is “If your dreams don’t scare you, they are too small.”
