Job Description/Duties:
The Ranch Internship will provide an opportunity to work with this progressive livestock operation at ranches in the Nebraska Sandhills. This position requires a willingness to work with other ranch interns and managers in a complete unit. Long-term interest in ranch management is preferred. This is an excellent paid internship opportunity for students to receive hands-on training in ranching and ranch management.
Interns may be involved with feedlot/background yard operations, heifer development, and maternal herd management. Interns may also assist with electronic identification, artificial insemination, and records management. In addition, the internship may include seasonal tasks, such as pivot irrigating, meadow haying operations and assisting with calving. Assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications or Skills Required:
- Some equipment experience.
- Some cattle experience.
