Looking for individual who like the best of both worlds of being out on a ranch or also to work in veterinary clinic setting. We are in need of someone to care after our 175 cows and small feedlot and also could work part time in our veterinary clinic as a technician or assistant. Unique opportunity to keep a lot of variety in your job.
We need someone who is willing to be flexible. The job would be mainly for the ranch job and would also work at our veterinary clinic the rest of the time. Ranch consists of Spring calving(March 15 -May 15) cows, Rotational grazing, corn/milo stalk grazing. We AI 100 % of our cows and heifers June 1st -June 15 . We background our own calves November 15-February 15. Only farming is 30 acres of alfafa and about 50 acres of forage sorghum for the cows. Our veterinary clinic is a 4 doctor mixed animal practice with 2 locations. Beef cattle(cow/calf and small feedlot), small animals, and horses are our bread and butter.
We also service a very busy livestock market one and a half days a week.
Cattle experience preferred but willing to train, General ranch/farm knowledge would be nice but willing to work with anyone who is willing to learn.
Dependent on experience. IRA, Health Insurance allowance, could bring or add some of your own cows,
beef for freezer, some weekends required.
