Shotgun Sports

Shotgun Sports is for anyone wanting to participate and learn more about shotgun shooting sports. Weekly practices of Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clay. Compete in collegiate shooting competitions throughout the region or shoot for fun.

Competition Shooting Experiences 
Before students can travel to competitions, they must shoot 80% in Trap and 75% in Skeet.

  • January 27, practice begins.
  • March 1-2, Concordia meet, Brainard NE.
  • March 8-9, NCTA meet, North Platte NE.
  • March 15-22, ACUI Nationals, San Antonio TX.
  • TBD, Swing and Shoot fundraiser, Curtis NE

Students expenses

  • Ammunition (~$1500/yr) Team has ammunition for students to purchase at cost.
  • Meals during travel.
  • Team vest if student wants their name on vest. (~$205), otherwise can use the school's vest
  • Any NCTA clothing.

Team account expenses

  • Entry fees. ($~170/student/event).
  • Hotel Rooms
  • Vehicle/travel
  • Evening meal at Nationals
  • Ammunition at Nationals
  • Clay targets for practice. ($3500/year)

Code of conduct violations (students sign safety and conduct document) 

  • Unsafe usage of firearm 1st offense is immediate dismissal from range. 
  • Unsafe usage of firearm 2nd offense is immediate dismissal from team. 
  • MIP #1. must pay all expenses at the next competition they attend.
  • MIP #2. Banned from competition. 
  • Drinking alcohol at competition, banned from competition.
