Job Description/Duties:

Primary duty is to maintain quality functions of laboratory, exam rooms as well as treatments and surgeries. Technicians are responsible for assisting doctors, laboratory procedures, radiology, client communications, medical procedures and the pharmacy. Along with maintenance of instruments and equipment, inventory, daily treatments of hospitalized and boarding animals. (we do have our own kennel staff to walk and care for the animals).

Essential functions would include being able to restrain animals, assist in treatment of animals, have an understanding of common procedures performed, perform dental scaling and polishing, have computer skills, able to take x-rays, understand and follow safety measures, running in house lab work as in fecal and urine checks, administer medications, fill medications,have a common knowledge of medications used in practice, monitor hospitalized/anesthetized patients, complete paperwork needed, be able to draw blood and place IV catheters, keep your area clean and organized, along with many other duties.

Our technicians are always utilized and do much more then just restraining a patient. We are a very busy small animal AAHA practice, that is always looking to expand our team and help others grow in knowledge and care of the animals.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

You should have the ability to express your thoughts verbally and clearly to others as well as to clients. Ability to actively listen and attend to what others are saying. Have good integrity, be honest and trustworthy. Be reliable and have appreciation for the rules and polices. Have  ability to manage time and work load, set priorities and follow through. Have knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, and practice procedures. 

Salary & Benefits:

Pay starts between $14-$18/hour based on experience and licenses. 3 days of paid continuing education plus $325 a year to attend seminars. Free boarding and daycare on pets.
