About This Role:
Southpaw Veterinary Clinic is seeking applicants for a Veterinary Nurse/Technician. This position exists to assist with providing excellent veterinary care for client animals and the Omaha community. This position is also responsible for coordination of animal treatments, instructing new assistants, and guiding other staff in client communication and animal handling. This position is designated as essential.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of a two year college program in veterinary and animal technology accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association. Two years of relevant experience preferred but not required (currently hiring for multiple positions).
Preferred Qualifications:
VTS (Exotics) certification or interested in becoming certified.
Experience in administering and monitoring anesthesia, performing radiographs, dental prophylaxis, and client education
Post graduate experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
Have excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain and use ordinary and exotic specialty medical equipment.
Be physically able to handle, restrain and provide medical services to domestic animals.
A working knowledge of operating room sterile technique procedures is preferred.
Knowledge of standard emergency veterinary medical procedures is preferred.
Ability to perform word processing and data entry procedures.
Be willing to master new techniques.
Other Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Must be registered with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services within one year of appointment.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:
$22.00-$27.00 hourly
