Job Description
We are a small family-operated cattle and farming operation located near Bertrand, Nebraska. We are currently looking for a dependable individual to join our team. We are open to full-time employment, part-time help, or an internship for someone wanting hands-on experience in the cattle and farming industry. This position offers the opportunity to work directly within a practical commercial and seedstock-style cattle program and gain experience across multiple aspects of ranch management throughout the year.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and interested in developing practical skills that translate into a career in agriculture.
This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in both livestock and farming operations and work directly with a small, hardworking team during all seasons of the year.
Duties will vary depending on the season and may include assisting with daily ranch and farm operations such as cattle care, feeding, calving, breeding, equipment operation, and general ranch maintenance and row crop operations.
We are willing to train the right person who has a good work ethic and positive attitude.
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting with cattle care and daily livestock management, calving season assistance, feeding cattle and checking pastures, operating tractors and basic farm equipment, fence repair and general ranch maintenance, helping with breeding season activities, assisting with farming tasks such as planting or harvest, yard and facility upkeep.
Opportunity for hands-on cattle industry experience with a registered black angus cow/calf operation.
Qualifications or Skills Required
Some cattle or agricultural experience preferred, but not required. A strong interest in agriculture, livestock, or ranching would be helpful. Must be comfortable working around livestock and large animals.
Ability to work independently and take initiative. Good communication and problem-solving skills are a must. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be willing to work some early mornings, evenings, and weekends during busy seasons. Schedule can be discussed in further detail.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic, dependable & trustworthy.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Prefer non-tobacco users.
