BROKEN BOW, Neb. – Aggie alumni are returning to the Nebraska Sandhills for a college reunion weekend in June.

Broken Bow will host graduates, their families and friends of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, and its predecessor, the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture, on June 22-23, said Ann Ramm Bruntz, president-elect of the Aggie Alumni Association.

“We look forward to reconnecting with our classmates, presenting some special awards, and recognizing honor classes from decades and half-decades of alumni,” said Bruntz, a ‘71 UNSTA alumna of veterinary technology.

Originally from a Stuart, Nebraska ranch, Ann Ramm met her future husband, production agriculture major David Bruntz, at the “Curtis ag school’ and they have farmed at Friend, Nebraska, for 48 years.

Both serve on the Aggie Alumni Association board of director which represents college alumni of UNSTA 1965-1994, and NCTA 1994 to present. David Bruntz was association president in 2011-2013.

A Saturday evening banquet (June 22) will recognize honor classes of 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984 and so forth up to 2014 and 2019, Bruntz said.

Alumni of the Curtis Aggie high school during its 55-year era of 1913 to 1968 are encouraged to attend.

Aggie Alumni president Dave Mehaffey of Bellwood, UNSTA ’83 Ag Mechanics major, will retire from office.

New officers to be elected at the business meeting will be president-elect and treasurer.  They serve a two-year term on the volunteer board of directors, Mehaffey said.

A social begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. banquet at the One Box Convention Center in Broken Bow.

Banquet presentations will include a Campus Update by NCTA Dean Ron Rosati, business meeting, and special awards for:

  • Alumni Service Award
  • Alumni Achievement Award
  • Honorary Life Membership
  • Leave Your Mark Awards

Recipients will be announced in late May so that all interested attendees can register by June 12.
