Aggie graduates and guests will hear new perspectives from honored guests and a farewell from Dr. Larry Gossen, dean, at the upcoming University of Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture commencement.
The graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 8, at 1:30 p.m., at the Curtis Memorial Community Center, 201 Garlick Avenue. A public reception will follow at the same location.
Dr. Larry Gossen invites the public to share this significant milestone in the graduates' lives and hear from special guests in attendance. University of Nebraska President Dr. Jeff Gold will bring greetings and congratulatory remarks on behalf of the University. Regent Barbara Weitz will offer the Commencement Address.
Regent Kathy Wilmot will greet guests on behalf of the Board of Regents. Dr. Mike Boehm will be presenting the graduates with their diplomas. Dr. Chris Kratochvil, Interim Vice President for External Relations, will attend.
Before graduation, campus visitors are welcome to a chicken fried steak luncheon buffet at the Aggie Dining cafeteria on Thursday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The meal price is $9.89 per person, including tax.
On Wednesday, May 7, public events include the induction ceremony for new Phi Theta Kappa honor society members at 2 p.m., a 5:30 p.m. picnic (at the Barn), and the NCTA Awards Program at 7 p.m. Both events will be hosted at the campus Nebraska Agriculture Industry Education Center auditorium.
