Beef Quality Assurance Workshop

CURTIS, Neb. (October 15, 2025) — Livestock producers, feedlot employees, and students will have an opportunity to strengthen their cattle management practices and earn Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certification at an upcoming workshop hosted by the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) in Curtis.

The BQA Certification Workshop will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. CT in the NCTA Welcome Center, 610 East 6th Street, Curtis. The session is open to all beef producers, students, and anyone involved in animal care or beef production who wants to improve herd health, beef safety, and consumer confidence.

Beef Quality Assurance is a nationally coordinated, state-implemented program that provides science-based education on animal handling, health, and management practices. Participants who complete the session will earn certification or recertification in BQA or BQAT.

The workshop is facilitated by the Nebraska Beef Quality Assurance team from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The certification fee is $20 per person or $100 for operations registering five or more participants. Early registration is encouraged, as events with limited attendance may be canceled.
