Job Description
- Interns will be expected to work daily within a team to manage reproductive and herd health at the feedlot. Interns will partake in four shadow days to gain perspective across the business. In addition, each intern will select and complete an independent project within a focus area of student's choice.
- Interns will be expected to work independently to calve cows and record registration/EPD data. Students will work within a team to manage reproductive herd health. Interns will partake in two shadow days. Lastly, interns will select and complete an independent project within a focus area of student's choice.
Qualifications or Skills Required
Enrolled in an Animal Science or related agriculture program for internship credits.
Possess a strong ability to work within a team to accomplish daily tasks.
Livestock experience and animal handling skills are preferred.
Ability to work early morning in an outside environment.
Operation of general farm machinery is preferred.
Salary and Benefits
$1,200-$2,000 Arrival Living Stipend
$5,000-$8,000 Completion Scholarship
Housing is included, along with utilities. Food/meals are not provided
