Job Description
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is looking for a motivated person interested in learning more about grazing beef cattle research to fill a paid summer internship position.
The successful candidate will be asked to weigh up and deliver supplement to cattle on pasture according to the treatment protocol. The internship will include assisting with rotating cattle through the pastures every two weeks, gathering and weighing cattle when necessary. The intern will assist with maintaining fence, checking water, insuring cattle are in the proper pasture and pasture group. Monitoring and replacing salt blocks, and assisting with animal health checks. The successful candidate will also collect forage samples and prepare them for analysis. Additionally, the intern is expected to assist with mowing and clean up of the facilities for field days, and other duties related to grounds and equipment maintenance as assigned.

Qualifications or Skills Required
Successful candidate must be willing to learn. Cattle handling experience is a plus, but all skills can be taught.
