Weed Science Research Intern

Job Description

  • Internship with the Weed Science Research and Extension Program at the Panhandle Research, Extension, and Education Center. The Weed Science Research and Extension Program conducts research into the control of invasive plants in rangeland, and weeds of irrigated crops including potato, small grains, dry bean, corn, soybean, sugarbeet, and alfalfa. Specific job duties depend upon the prior experience of the candidate but may include: data entry, data collection, establishment and maintenance of research trials, irrigation system operation and maintenance, planter and pesticide applicator calibration and maintenance, operation of small tractors, and general research trial area maintenance. Criminal history background check, and driving record review will be conducted.


Qualifications or Skills Required
Previous experience with tractor operation, pesticide application, and a driver's license are preferred but not required.

Salary and Benefits
$16.25 an hour.
