Dual Credit Courses for High School and Home School Students

Dual credit allows high school students to earn college credit while still in high school. This gives you the opportunity to gain experience with college-level work, save money on tuition, and build confidance taking college level courses that will help you transition more smoothly to college!

NCTA's reduced tuition for dual credit is $74.50 per credit hour.

Admissions Requirements:

The Dual Credit High School Enrollment Program is for juniors and seniors in high school and home school students. It allows students to earn high school and college credits concurrently. Courses are college-level, contain the same content and rigor as other courses offered at NCTA, and may transfer. 

Interested students should have a 3.0 GPA. If a  student does not meet this requirement, he or she will need a counselor's approval to take a dual credit course.

Application Procedure
  • First select the course you would like to take: Available Courses
  • Complete application: Dual Credit
  • Returning dual credit students do not need to reapply. Email Vicky Luke with your course selection.

  • August 29 for Fall 2025
  • January 16 for Spring 2026

Next Steps For Dual Credit

  1. 1. TrueYou

    Once your application is approved, you will receive two emails: the first will contain your NUID number, the second will contain a temporary password, a link to TrueYou, and instructions for claiming your MyUNL ID and password.

  2. 2. Canvas

    You will be able to login to Canvas 24 business hours after claiming your NUID.

    Take the Student Quick Start Tour once you have logged in. 

  3. 3. Billing Information

    Paper bills are mailed to dual credit students. All payments are due the 12th of the month.

  4. 4. ACE Scholarship

    The Access College Early Scholarship is available to high school students who wish to enroll in dual enrollment courses. Please follow this link for more information:  ACE Scholarship
