CURTIS, Neb. - The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture we can offer educational programming nearly year-round because of partnerships with Nebraska Extension and other educational organizations.

As a two-year college within the University of Nebraska system, NCTA’s academic year matches that of the other four University campuses.  We are a two semester system, beginning before Labor Day, and concluding in early May.

CURTIS, Neb. – Agronomy students at NCTA now have “the latest and greatest” of modern field technology.

With the delivery last month of a new no-till planter, applied learning at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis took a giant leap forward, says the NCTA alumnus who built the fully-equipped 6-row planter.

Anson Nielsen, a 1999 graduate of NCTA’s Agricultural Production Systems program, is a Minden-area farmer and owner of Nielsen Ag Equipment.

CURTIS, Neb. – To ranchers and agricultural college students, the 2019 Aggie of the Year in Curtis, Nebraska, would be considered a ‘top hand.’

Damian Wellman of Prairie View, Kansas was named the Aggie of the Year by the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in an awards ceremony in May.

Wellman, a third-year livestock management major, is serving his summer internship at a ranch in Wyoming, the ideal spot for an avid horseman.

The Aggie Alumni Association of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture is gathering for its annual meeting and banquet on Saturday, June 22.

Alumni are encouraged to attend in Broken Bow at the Nebraska One Box Convention Center.

Members and guests will celebrate another successful year for our NCTA students, the campus and the alumni of the 106 years that this institution has been educating Nebraskans and others.

Year-end awards were recently announced at an appreciation luncheon for all campus employees.

An awards selection committee sought individuals who made a difference for the NCTA student body and the entire campus community, said Mary Rittenhouse, agribusiness professor and committee chair.

BROKEN BOW, Neb. – Aggie alumni are returning to the Nebraska Sandhills for a college reunion weekend in June.

Broken Bow will host graduates, their families and friends of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, and its predecessor, the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture, on June 22-23, said Ann Ramm Bruntz, president-elect of the Aggie Alumni Association.

It’s been a whirlwind in Curtis as the end of the semester and graduation arrived on May 1 and 2 for the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.

Thank you to all of the community members who helped welcome families and friends of our Class of 2019 graduates.

Everyone speaks of how tight-knit small communities are in rural areas of Nebraska.  It is true!

Two honored with Castle Memorial Scholarships Monday, May 13, 2019

CURTIS, Neb. – Two NCTA students entering their sophomore year of college this fall were recognized at the 2019 Awards Night program on May 1 at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.

Randy Castle of Olathe, Colorado presented Darcy Stewart and Clade Anderson with annual memorial scholarships in honor of his daughter, Chandie, who died in a tragic auto accident in January, 2008.

Chandie had completed course credits for an associate degree in agribusiness, and was set to earn a second degree in production agriculture.
