CURTIS, Neb. – The linkage between a small rural technical college in Nebraska and agricultural learning in Rwanda is expanding.
During the 2019 summer session, NCTA will again be hosting a group of 50 Rwandan students who will be coming to Curtis for seven weeks to learn technical skills in agriculture. Some details are still being finalized but the students are currently scheduled to be in Curtis from May 13 through June 28.

CURTIS, Neb. – The NCTA Aggie Shotgun Sports Team is headed to a national contest for the first time in school history.
The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture’s Aggie team leaves Curtis on Tuesday, and heads to San Antonio, Texas to compete in the 2019 ACUI Collegiate Clay Targets Championships on March 27-30.

Aggies helping agriculture is ‘what’s for dinner’ Tuesday night.
The NCTA Nebraska Disaster Relief Pasta Meal Benefit will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Curtis Community Center, featuring a variety of pasta dishes, desserts and more.
Proceeds are for disaster relief from storms and flooding on March 13-15.
Although damage estimates are still being assessed, the impact to Nebraska agriculture, directly and due to potential inability to plant 2019 crops, is projected to be between $1 and $1.5 billion.

CURTIS, Neb. – Disaster relief donations of hay and fencing materials are being collected by the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.
The University of Nebraska campus in Curtis is participating in the joint effort with the Nebraska Department of Agriculture and Nebraska Extension in collecting hay supplies for livestock producers who were severely affected by the March 13-15 disaster across the state, said Ron Rosati, NCTA dean.

CURTIS, Neb. – We are supportive of all rural families, and particularly for our Aggie students from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.
Many are facing natural disasters and some personal tragedies in the aftermath of the disasters which began on March 13 and are continuing.
Brandy Van DeWalle, NU extension educator in Fillmore and Clay Counties, shared some tips which may help our NCTA students and their families to cope with the high levels of stress they are facing at this time.

CURTIS, Neb. – The resiliency of Nebraska’s agriculture industry and her people including our college community at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis is facing a rigorous challenge.
The phrase “Nebraska Strong” has been the rallying cry this past week since a harsh blizzard on March 13 followed by catastrophic flooding to about two-thirds of the Cornhusker state.

The professor who has coached students in livestock evaluation, instructed hundreds of college freshmen and sophomores, and mentored young people into agricultural careers for the past eight years at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis was recently honored for those efforts

LINCOLN, Neb. – A cold and windy weekend greeted the NCTA Aggie Shotgun Sports Team from Curtis as they competed in the Doane Tiger Invitational Shotgun Sports meet in Lincoln.
The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture’s Aggie team placed fourth in the Saturday and Sunday contest held at the Lincoln Trap and Skeet Club, home range for the Tigers.
