Dean’s Message from Interim Dean Kelly Bruns, Ph.D.
Graduates of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture are applying skills and knowledge gained through their NCTA experiences in successful careers.
That know-how includes employment in Nebraska high school classrooms and laboratories with agricultural education and FFA programs. And, some are leading 4-H youth through Nebraska Extension, coordinating county programs with local 4-H councils and extension educators.

Each week I look at the calendar and am inspired with the depth of educational programs for our students here on campus at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture as well as the outreach opportunities around the state and beyond.
Take a look at the “upcoming events” and you, too, can see many times for our stakeholders and partners to engage with NCTA Aggies.

Selecting the top breeding stock for a beef cattle herd means knowing what to look for in an animal.
That’s the goal in teaching students about livestock evaluation at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.
Breeding bulls and heifers scrutinized last Sunday at the Iowa Beef Expo in Des Moines were among an elite set of beef cattle, say two sophomores on the NCTA Livestock Judging Team.

NCTA Dean’s Message
By Interim Dean Kelly Bruns, Ph.D.
Our agricultural and veterinary technology students are richly blessed with an abundance of educational opportunities through the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture!
Some of those applied learning experiences are beyond the campus classrooms or laboratories of this University of Nebraska institution.
For example, in the past week we’ve had three groups traveling to regional or national agricultural activities which are sponsored by their NCTA team or club.

Aggies are underway with their second week of spring semester classes at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture and I’d like to welcome new students to campus.
We had several students transfer or begin their college career after the break. Welcome to campus, new Aggies!
Our residence halls are filled with students bundled in winter gear and carefully making their way across campus, and when outdoors caring for the NCTA farm’s livestock and horses.
