Thanks to newborns named Clover and Dandelion, veterinary technology students at NCTA got some unique, hands-on insight into lambing.
The twin males were born on separate dates to Honey, a Babydoll South Down ewe, owned by Leighlynn Obermiller, Veterinary Technology instructor and alumnus with the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.
For a second year, Obermiller brought several pregnant ewes from her flock to campus. Elizabeth Fraser, DVM, incorporates lambing into the large animal courses and labs she teaches.

NCTA’s impact $15 million
By Ted Carter, President University of Nebraska System
Many of us know intuitively that our lives are touched in some way by the University of Nebraska.
Maybe you’ve received care at our world-renowned medical center. Maybe you’re a farmer or rancher who’s benefited from the expertise of Nebraska Extension (and programs at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis).
You’ve probably been to a football game and felt the common bond of cheering for the Huskers with your fellow Nebraskans.

NCTA Dean’s Message by Larry Gossen, Ph.D.
When I officially started my first day as the new dean of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture on June 15, 2020, our nation’s higher education system faced great unknowns.
We knew, however, that NCTA at Curtis was the only campus in the University of Nebraska system operating with in-person classes that summer. Two dozen Veterinary Technician students and their instructors were ready for opening day, also on June 15.
