CURTIS, Neb. - This has been “Charter Week” at the University of Nebraska as the flagship campus in Lincoln leads the state’s five NU campuses in celebrating N150, activities observing the founding of a federally-designated land grant institution in Nebraska.
Officially, the charter was signed on Feb. 15, 1869 designating the University of Nebraska with its role in public education and service.

CURTIS, Neb. – The University of Nebraska is celebrating its 150th year in post-secondary education throughout 2019.
The land grant institution with its flagship campus at the University of Nebraska Lincoln was officially created on Feb. 15, 1869.
Here in Curtis, the institution that is now the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture had the good fortune to be a component of the University of Nebraska since its beginning.

CURTIS, Neb. – A lifelong dream for a Sandhills cowgirl is coming true.
Eva Oliver, an NCTA Aggie, receives her crown and official title as Miss Rodeo Nebraska 2019 on January 5 at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine.
Oliver graduated in May, 2018 from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis with an associate of science degree in veterinary technology.
While studying at NCTA, Eva was busy with her Vet Tech classes but most enjoyed the ranch horse program and opportunities to ride horses.

It’s finals week at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture! Students have wrapped up their final projects, studied hard for the past few weeks and are now seeing the rewards of their efforts as they take their final exams.
Most students come through finals week feeling the intense satisfaction that comes from a job well done. It’s rewarding for students to experience the accomplishment that comes with completing a successful semester.

We have had outstanding outreach opportunities for the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture again this month, allowing us to shine a bright spotlight on the accomplishments of Aggie students and our graduates.
Interactions at public venues such as college fairs, the Nebraska State Fair and Husker Harvest Days can often give us the chance to tell our story to alumni, stakeholders and news media.

The institution that is now NCTA started in 1913 as a residential high school for boys and girls. Our early faculty welcomed young men studying agriculture, and young women, in “normal training” as teachers and in home economics.
They were part of land grant institutions across the United States which first established high schools, then evolved into fulltime college campuses.
This week marks a festive occasion for the last class of senior students who graduated from that original high school in Curtis.
