Dean’s Message NCTA Dean Larry Gossen, Ph.D.

Scattered rain showers in southwestern Nebraska certainly have boosted Mother Nature recently, along with lifting our spirits here at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.

It’s been nice to see the sun shining again after rains.

“Always face the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind” – reads a small plaque shared by a friend.

That sentiment could be one of the inspirational images for our NCTA Aggie campus this spring. Students successfully completed their 2021 semester with determination.

Dean's Message

By NCTA Dean Larry Gossen, Ph.D.

May is National Beef Month, a time of recognizing beef cattle production and the healthy, nutritious product many of us consider a staple in our diet.

A tip of the cowboy hat to all cattle producers, families, and employees from all of us at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. We appreciate your dedication to the livestock industry.

At the NCTA farm, we have completed spring calving and branding, and are preparing to turn out the cow-calf pairs on to summer range.

Congratulations to our campus community! The Class of 2021 has graduated!

Our Aggie students at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture have navigated the challenges of an uncertain year. Thursday we celebrated graduates and their families in an outdoor commencement.

It was a picturesque day, with blooming flowers, green grass, blossoms and budding trees, ideal weather and sunshine, and enthusiasm which was palpable for this “chamber of commerce quality day” in Curtis.

NCTA Dean's Message

Rooted in ranching and valuing education, a goal and dream of Sande Clark Scholz was to leave a legacy of her maternal lineage to the “school at Curtis.”

Prior to her death nearly two years ago, Sande and her husband, David, coordinated the gift of land in Hayes County be made through the University of Nebraska Foundation.

Sande had inherited the ranch from the estate of her mother, Grace Lue Clark, who died in North Platte in 1993.
