An old football field at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture is a wonderful open, green space across from Agriculture Hall.
Looking out from the second- and third-floor classrooms and offices of Ag Hall, I can envision a venue which once hosted hundreds of football games, graduations, and public celebrations of the “Curtis Aggies.”

CURTIS, Neb. – The Aggie Class of 2021 graduating on May 6 from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture will hear from University of Nebraska President Ted Carter who will deliver the keynote address in an outdoor commencement.
“We are very excited to welcome President Carter back to campus here in Curtis as, this year, we are having graduation in person, with our Aggie graduates, their families and friends,” NCTA Dean Larry Gossen announced.

Prospective college students can attend “Discovery Day” on Monday (April 12) at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.
Individuals of any age, including some changing careers or colleges, are welcome, says Gaylene Stinman, admissions recruiter.
“Our NCTA Discovery Day is a great mix of individuals who have already graduated from high school, are getting ready for Spring commencement, and will graduate in another year or two,” Stinman said.

Get your dog in dandy shape this spring at the NCTA Pet Spa Day on Saturday (April 10).
Veterinary Technicians will bath dogs, trim toenails and clean ears at the NCTA Vet Tech Clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Grooming occurs at the Veterinary Teaching Clinic of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.
“People from the Curtis community or area can bring in their dogs to get them bathed, plus nails trimmed, and their ears cleaned” said Hannah Murray, a freshman from North Bend.

CURTIS, Neb. – The “home team” at the first in-person, regional collegiate crops judging contest of 2021 won the 2-year college division at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.
The NCTA Aggie team topped 2-year schools, while Iowa State University team won the 4-year division.
Nine universities and colleges from Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin traveled to Curtis for the daylong contest organized by Brad Ramsdale, NCTA agronomy professor and crops judging team coach.

This summer, Aggie graduates and friends will convene Saturday, June 26 for a unique gathering of classmates and friends at the campus of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.
The “double” reunion of the Aggie Alumni Association features a 50-year recognition for the Classes of 1970 and 1971.
After postponement of 2020 events due to the COVID pandemic, Aggie Alumni decided to highlight honor classes in 5-year increments, beginning in ’70 and ‘71.

Celebrate National Agriculture Week!
We are fully engaged in ag production at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. Word from the calving pasture is we have three head left to calve. Bravo to the NCTA Beef Production Class ho have been on around-the-clock calving watch since February.
It’s quite busy at campus as students returned from Spring Break on Monday. We are awaiting results of the ag mechanics department tests of advanced welding students for certification by the American Welding Society.

Students at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture want to meet women in agriculture who will share their stories – good, bad, or maybe even ugly - in a “Meet & Greet” Tuesday evening (March 30) at the college in Curtis.
The NCTA Women in Ag student club is hosting an informal social time at 6:30 p.m. at the NCTA Nebraska Agriculture Industry Education Center, with a panel of agriculturalists present and also interactive in a virtual format at 7:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend or link virtually.

Spring storms brought much-needed nourishment last weekend with over 3 inches of rain at campus.
The moisture gives all of us in southwest Nebraska, which is in a severe drought, reason to celebrate National Agriculture Week on March 21-27.
When our Aggie students at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture return Monday from spring break, they’ll resume the final six weeks of classes.
