CURTIS, Neb. - We laud partnerships and teamwork in education. The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture shares statewide projects with campus partners at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
As part of our celebration of the University’s founding 150 years ago, we just completed “Charter Week” at the UNL campus, across the state at research and extension centers, and at extension offices.

Cattle dog work on display Sunday Friday, February 15, 2019

CURTIS, Neb. – Stock dogs and their owners from southwestern Nebraska will provide a public demonstration of cattle handling savvy on Sunday in Kearney.
The Outback Stock Dog Association and Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Stock Dog Team will be in the livestock arena of the Buffalo County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 17.
“The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic is excited to work with Ed Merritt and Kelly Popp of the Outback group and the students at NCTA in Curtis this Sunday,” said Ronette Bush-Heinrich, NCC coordinator.

CURTIS, Neb. - This has been “Charter Week” at the University of Nebraska as the flagship campus in Lincoln leads the state’s five NU campuses in celebrating N150, activities observing the founding of a federally-designated land grant institution in Nebraska.
Officially, the charter was signed on Feb. 15, 1869 designating the University of Nebraska with its role in public education and service.

CURTIS, Neb. - The road to college education in Curtis, Nebraska, is a two-way street. Often the travels made by a student to their farm, ranch or home residence involve a pickup truck.
That is because we are a rural campus at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, serving the needs of our NCTA Aggie students who are studying agriculture and veterinary technology programs.

CURTIS, Neb. _ Livestock judging teams from Curtis kicked off their spring travel schedule with a season opener last week in South Dakota.
The Aggie judges from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture competed at the Sioux Empire Livestock Judging Contest at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.
On the route from the NCTA campus to Sioux Falls, the team stopped by Ruth Simmentals at Rising City to evaluate livestock, said Douglas Smith, livestock judging coach.

The other day two job announcements crossed my desk from companies in Nebraska’s expanding poultry industry. They were seeking employees with a specific skillset in food production.
Last week, a recruiter with our institution, the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, received an inquiry about career placement opportunities for NCTA Aggie students in beef cattle feedlots and ranching enterprises.
