Curtis, Neb. – College rodeo isn’t even out of the chute this spring. Yet, five recruits are already signed up to be NCTA Aggies come fall.
The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture opens its spring season of intercollegiate rodeo with the Great Plains Region on April 7-8 at South Dakota State University.
NCTA Aggie Coach Taylor Rossenbach said he intends to have eight NCTA student athletes make the trip to Brookings for the spring opener.

McCook, Neb. – Training tips on reining patterns, trail course, pleasure riding and working stock cattle are topics for a western clinic for riders of all ages and experience levels on April 7 in McCook.
The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Ranch Horse Team is hosting its annual clinic and two-day Punchy in Pink Spring Round Up at the Kiplinger Arena at the Red Willow County Fairgrounds on April 7-9, said Joanna Hergenreder, NCTA associate professor of animal science and Ranch Horse Team coach.

Curtis, Neb. – Andrea Burkhardt has lived her life amid seeds, soil and plants.
And, no, she is not a farmer or a rancher.
From her home in the far northeastern part of the state to her college campus in southwestern Nebraska, Burkhardt has had one goal – to establish a career in floral design.
The native of Winnetoon, Neb., is completing her third year at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis where she studies horticulture and business management systems.

Curtis, Neb. – Skills of man and canine will be on trial this weekend in Curtis.
Efficient and low-stress livestock handling will be April 1-2 in a dog trial hosted by the Outback Stock Dog Association and Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Stock Dog Club.
Events will be in the NCTA Livestock Teaching Center indoor arena beginning with a handlers’ meeting at 8:30 a.m. and contest at 9 a.m. daily.

Curtis, Neb. – The mountainous beauty at Provo, Utah, inspired an agricultural trio from Nebraska in a unique test of their collegiate training.
Three students from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis ranked 16th of 57 college teams which competed in the 2017 National Landscape Collegiate Plant Installation.

Cheyenne, Wyo. – Ranch Horse students riding for their college team from Curtis, Nebraska ranked well in their second major show of 2017 claiming the Reserve Champion Collegiate Team title.
The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture sent 11 riders to the show ring at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, competing in collegiate or open division events, said Aggie Coach Joanna Hergenreder.
