Agronomy, agricultural mechanics and urban agriculture are areas featured this week in our four-part series about academic divisions at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.
Brad Ramsdale is the chair of the Agronomy and Agricultural Mechanics Division of Agricultural Production Systems. Dr. Ramsdale also coaches the NCTA Crops Judging Team which won the 2017 National Championship among 2-year colleges.

LOVELAND, Colo. _ Horses and riders in a working stock horse competition in Colorado last weekend returned to Nebraska with winning attitudes and awards.
The Aggie Ranch Horse Team from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis brought home the Reserve Champion Collegiate Team title after three days in the arena at The Ranch at the Larimer County Fairgrounds near Loveland, Colo.

Students standing on the “capitol steps” in a group photo taken this fall at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture are student leaders.
With the pillars of Ag Hall as the backdrop for the photo, the NCTA Student Senate represents Aggie student clubs, organizations and collegiate teams, and a campus population of 250 fulltime students.

Sportsmen and recreationists can test their skills Saturday with local college students in a friendly competition in Curtis called, “Take Home the Bacon.”
The Aggie Shotgun Sports Club at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture will host its annual clay target fun day at the Curtis Gun Club located on East Highway 23 east of Curtis, said Alan Taylor, coach of the Aggie team.

Cup of Joe on the Go is just the shot of java needed to start the day for college students at their agricultural campus in Curtis.
A second-year, start-up venture for business students in the “Management Concepts” class at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture has become a satisfying treat for customers for three hours on Tuesday and Wednesdays mornings.

Will Kusant of Comstock, Nebraska, is a leader among Aggies at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.
He was named Aggie of the Month for October, 2017, by his peers, NCTA staff and faculty.
Kusant is a second-year student majoring in agronomy, and also serves as an NCTA Resident Assistant for campus residence halls, said Jennifer McConville, NCTA associate dean.
