This week we remember and celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., a man who pursued many of the same goals addressed at NCTA: education, economic development, personal development, and human dignity.

Dr. King pursued noble goals while pushing for nonviolence. This is one of his quotes from 1964 which best summarizes his vision:

A new year is a time for us to reflect on the progress we’ve made, look ahead and recommit ourselves to our goals.

With thousands of talented students and faculty returning to campus, and important initiatives underway across our University and state that will grow Nebraska for the future, I’m filled with gratitude and anticipation for what 2018 will bring.

The past year was a period of remarkable transformation for our University.

CURTIS, Neb. – Limited irrigation concerns may prompt crop producers to consider planting grain sorghum this year.

Agronomy students at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture will join the region’s crop producers on January 18th to learn why grain sorghum is a viable crop for southwestern Nebraska.

CURTIS, Neb. – A private practice veterinarian specializing in beef cattle and equine health has joined the faculty of Veterinary Technology programs at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.

Darcy Moreland, DVM, joined the NCTA faculty fulltime last week. NCTA spring semester classes started Monday.

CURTIS, Neb. – Graduates from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture can see college investment paying off when checking their payroll deposits.

In 2017, the college in Curtis, Nebraska was ranked first in the nation by WalletHub.com for “career outcomes” when compared against other U.S. two-year colleges, said Ron Rosati, NCTA dean.

This week’s column will feature Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture academic programs in animal science, equine science, and agricultural education. This column is a component of a four-part series on the award-winning programs at NCTA.

The Agriculture Production Systems - Animal Science and Agricultural Education Division draws the great enrollment to campus with over 110 students in courses such as livestock production, feedlot management and equine management.
